Society Rears it's Ugly Head
Lately, Society has been rearing it's ugly head. Just like the Hydra of legend with its many heads - this one is one of the uglier one. You wonder why Hercules would want to cut them off one by one. But with each head removed, a new one replaces it. Sometimes seven would replace the fallen one. It never seems to end and so it is with our Society that does no better sometimes...
We've listened to many complaints recently about websites getting spammed or viruses being implanted into their sites. It also seems to stem from one common activity - having articles or reports about China and the Olympics. Even e-commerce site we're getting hammered with cowardly anonymous complaints about doing business with China.
What I can strongly say is these sites, and the Ancient World Secrets are very neutral in our reporting or articles. We are not politically inclined one way or the other. We call it like it is, no more, no less.
If these website attackers have any social conscience, they will realise that acting the way they did simply puts them into the category of bullies. And how much of a bully? It depends. Some are simply pranksters that are determined to rob honest hardworking people of their hard earned rights and income - they are no worse than thieves. There are those that are highly determined to destroy using a misguided or twisted ideology (so are their minds) - they are really no better than internet terrorists.
They do this simply because they think they can get away with it, using the anonymity of a computer screen. ANd you wonder where the internet police are?
The truth is, a crime needs to be proven first and then after the trail gets really muddled, there might be a folllow up. However, more often than not, these hit and run activities remain just that - damage done, trail goes cold, case unsolved and reduced to another report, if at all.
Things are no different here on this site, but all we use is vigilence and best safety vs openess practice.
Please give us your opinions.
